Wilson Godinho is tied to several low profile companies. There are always names in common under the ‘potential related directors’ list. Another common link is they are mostly in the construction, hospitality and manufacturing business. Kamla Prasad Yadav, the deputy sarpanch of the Chicalim Village Panchayat and a close friend of Mauvin Godinho, is probably the first to be rewarded the much-sort-after membership of MPDA, which is open only to political appointees.

Lion Roars

According to Bangalore-based Insta Financials which claims to provide online financial analysis on private and public limited companies, Wilson Godinho, the realtor brother of Mauvin Godinho, the transport and panchayat minister; holds an active directorship in three companies. The total paid-up capital of all three companies is Rs 7,63,66,700. The first company where he was appointed director was Arondha Properties Pvt. Ltd and the most recent directorship was with Fabrizio Industries Pvt. Ltd. To be fair, its data does not appear to be regularly updated, and at best is sketchy.

But, what it does say, ties Wilson Godinho to several low profile companies which would be best suited to him; positively intriguing and therefore needs to be investigated further.

At some point of time in his high-flying (but not in the media glare) life he appears to have had a connection to Gomantak Iron Ores Pvt Ltd. and also with Wilson Properties Pvt. Ltd. Itemised on the listed information are the names of ‘potential related directors’. They are Damodar Sitaram Desai, Evelyse Godinho (his wife), Hirachand Bafna, Manu Nath (with companies mostly in the construction business in Maharashra, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and also connected to Arondha Properties), Nilesh Joao Cabral (the power minister), Prateek Kumar (also connected to Arondha Properties), Sandeep Kumar and Sitaram Damodar Sinai Desai.

The common denominator

As you do a Google search of each of these names, there are always names in common under the ‘potential related directors’ list. Which in itself is curious enough. Another common link is they are mostly in the construction, hospitality and manufacturing business. Begin with https://www.instafinancials.com/director/wilson-godinho/01691171 and following the trail of common denominators. Rather, the feature shared by all members of the group.

Arondha Properties Pvt. Ltd, according to information learned from the same Google follow-up search, has seven active directors/partners: Prateek Kumar, Wilson Godinho, Evelyse Godinho, Anurag Pahuja, Birender Kumar Swain, Naresh Lakhanpal and Manu Nath (connected to Arondha Properties and Wilson Properties).

The email ID of Gomantak Iron Ores is widesproperties@rediffmail.com and its registered address is F-2, 3rd floor, Navelkar Trade Centre, Panjim, which is also the address of Wides Properties And Holdings Pvt. Ltd., in which Prateek Kumar (Arondha Properties) and Milan Shah are additional directors. Both Godinho and his wife have been linked to this realtor firm (also see http://goanspirit.com/to-the-manor-born-1). In fact many of the companies reportedly linked to Godinho have the same common address.

A family of rule flouters

Godinho’s brother, Mauvin, and a close friend of Kamla Prasad Yadav; are both members of the corrupt Mormugao Planning and Development Authority (MPDA). Yadav is also the deputy sarpanch of the Chicalim Village Panchayat. A migrant from Uttar Pradesh, he is probably the first to be rewarded the much-sort-after membership, which is open only to political appointees. He has a construction firm Venture Building Dreams.

In 2017, both the MPDA and the Chicalim VP granted him all the necessary completion and occupancy certificates for a seven-storeyed building with 66 studio and 24 1-BHK flats at Alto Dabolim, metres away from the flight path of aircraft landing at Dabolim Airport. This is currently part of a court case filed by the navy in the Bombay High Court. In a letter dated August 20, 2018 to MPDA, the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services said the certificates were issued by the MPDA without the Final NOC from the Fire Services required under Goa Land Development and Building Construction Regulations 2010. Yadav reportedly broke several building regulations (including FAR) making an extra profit of almost Rs 4.2 cr only by breaking the rules.
